North Morocco, Tangier

Tangier City Center It is a pioneering project that will endow the city with its business centre. It is a great project for Tangier, taking into account the prospect of the mega-project Tangier-Med, with thousands hectares of free zones, where investors of different nationalities will come to live.

The new business centre, with an investment of more than one billion dirhams, is located in the heart of Tangier’s Bay, and spreads over 3.4 hectares. Belonging to the National Company of the Development of Tangier Bay (SNABT), Tangier City Center includes an integrated high standing tourist complex, and will receive all kinds of tourist facilities: hotels, tourist residences, business residences.

Port Tangier - Med

It is towards the Region of Ksar Sghir, and at thirty kilometres from Tangier that the looks are turned actually. This site will undergo between 2000 and 2012 socio-economic changes thanks to the carrying out of the mega-project “Tangier-Med”, the biggest port in the North of Morocco.

In fact, even with the flow of colossal and huge investments in different sectors, the mega-project Tangier-Med remains unquestionably the pioneering project of the Moroccan Economic dynamics. It stands out from other projects, launched everywhere throughout the kingdom, by its ability to transform, by itself, the whole region.

From the Port Complex, now it is a series of infrastructures that start to be placed in order to stow to this Complex and to create together the dynamics, necessary for the economic boom of the North Region. A new port will be placed at the west side of Tangier-Med. This infrastructure will, as soon as the market conditions allow it, lead to the carrying out of new containers’ terminals in deep water.

These terminals will offer more than 2500 meters of quays, so be a new capacity of 5 million containers. This new port is scheduled to accommodate a terminal for the reception of natural liquefied gas and a re-gasification installation. In addition to the actual installations, including containers’ terminals, hydrocarbons’ and goods’ terminals, the port complex Tangier-Med will be equipped with passengers’ and cars’ port, scheduled to be operational in 2009.
